If this is their first original track I am looking forward to what is to come. This track was produced for a new up and coming singer from L.A, Fermanda Romero, or FERfor short, and the magicians behind the magic are known as Sikki Kidz who are Sid Licious and Sikki Nixx. They are primarily known for their remixes which have flooded the internet, mainly that of Digitalism‘s track Taken Away. More information about FER can be found here and Sikki Kidz here. But for now here it is, Pornstar feat. FER and a remix Pobre Estupida by Maria Daniela Y Su Sonido Lasser.

British producer Theo Keating aka Fake Blood(allegedly), has definitely made a splash in the music scene over the past couple of years, remixing an amazing variety of artists, and performing as half of The Black Ghosts. I was delighted to hear that he had remixed Touch Too Much by Hot Chip. It’s amazing dance done in true Fake Blood fashion, check it out.
So, there hasn’t been anything exciting to report on in the last couple of weeks. Though thanks to Triple J, i came across a nice little ditty by The Ashton Shuffle. Turns out when they’re not busy mashing Ministry Cd’s they’re hanging out with Tommy Sunshine. Take a listen to Stomp Yo Shoes.
Every week we are emailed a heap of tracks from all over the globe.. So instead of having them collect dust in our inbox I thought I’d introduce Tuesday’s Inbox. In the past I have posted a heap of tracks which had been sent to us, but now it’s going to happen weekly.. So if you have tracks you want to share send them over and I’ll post them up. We are all about new music and theres now a better way, I believe, to share.
Since it is the first week I’m doing this there are going to be a heap of tracks.. So first up we have a couple of remixes of Adrian Lux‘s track Strawberry. The first is by Kocky and Trash, out of Stockholms län, Sweden. Known more as individuals they have teamed up for this remix and have nailed it. Keeping the track instrumentally hot, and keeping the vocals at just the right level..
The second remix of Strawberry is by Oscar Wedrén and slightly different. What good would music be if it was all the same? This track has a slightly longer intro, building the track up nicely, keeping it minimalist until the chorus comes around for the first time, then going off with a bang.
This next artist we have featured before and he has sent over some more tunes. An original and a couple of remixes. First up the original. He is R!M!E! and his track is called Booha and it is mint. It has a real good flow to it and I could only imagine how much it would go off pumping on a good sound system.
As I said, R!M!E! also sent over a couple of remixes, one by Altern8 and the other, which has been around for a little while now, Sinden‘s Beeper. These three tracks are a perfect example how different one person’s creations can be. You have Frequency by Altern8 which has turned a bit upbeat with some awesome synth lines. Then Beeper, which stands out from others I have heard because it is so different, mainly because of what has been done to the lyrics.
Out of São Paulo, Brazil I bring to you Database. These guys remind me of Aeroplane in a way, I think its their influences of 1970′s / 80′s disco, and of course they are putting out some hot tracks which I cant stop listening to. The melody and rhythm of Must Be Love really gets stuck in your head.. Well mine at least. Check more of what they have to offer here.
Here are a couple of older tracks for you with a fresh twist One man from Barcelona, Spain known as CatComplex is that fresh twist for this track, Juliet by Rob Gibb. Strong steady backing beat with synth running over the top this remix gets you dancing. This is another track which I have had on repeat for a while now. Check some more stuff by CatComplex here.
I think after nine tracks now I’m trying to hold myself back from saying the same things over and over about each of these tracks, how awesome they all are and how I really dig these tracks, but that’s the truth. So here are the last two.. Justin Faust‘s remix of Hey You! and Lebatman‘s remix of Heartbreak City – of course, two more mint tracks..!
So I think it’s pretty fair to say I’m excited about this guys! Amongst streaming his Heartbeats promo non-stop for the past five days I will be seeing him tonight playing alongside my good friend Redial tonight at Plantation. Out of Leeds in the UK, keep an eye out for GRUM!!
Remixing such artists as Santogold, Digitalism and Justice, Hallöchen Matthias AKA MMMatthias keeps those creative juices of his flowin’ with a remix of Bloc Party’s Signs. This is one catchy tune.. Strong steady beat with awesome cut up vocals running gently underneath. The only bad thing about this track is that it’s too short. It’s a tune that really gets you moving and wishing you were in a massive room with a heap of people dancing all night long. I think that’s why I have it on repeat.
At the age of 12 MMMatthias spent his communion money on a set of turntables and some records. Drawing influences from all genres of the musical sphere, he was fascinated by sample-based productions which was Hip Hop and wanted to head in that direction. Then December ’07 the sun shone from behind those Hip Hop trees and MMMatthias turned back to electro. Hiding behind his good friend Mr. Frying Pan in this pic, it is said it was he whom suggested the name MMMatthias. And you can check him out here.
Finnish electronic music producer Vladislav Delay aka Luomo has just released his 4th album Convival. A wonderfully composed album featuring a range of vocalists, including Sascha Ring aka Apparat and Jake Shears, ofScissor Sisters fame. According to Luomo, “It is for the first time that there’s a real collaboration between myself and the singers; where I didn’t write all the lyrics myself, but left plenty of room for the collaborators to bring in the lyrics and musical ideas.”
