This song has single-handedly made me want to grow a beard. While I had heard a handful of songs from Titus Andronicus debut album The Airing of Grievances throughout last year somehow I missed this one. To make the obligatory mention of the Conor Oberst similarities would now be kinda irrelevant because these guys hold their own. The relentless distortion accompanied by frontman Patrick Stickles nihilistic screams really does make you want to yell “fuck you!” and for no reason in particular. It’s the kind of music you could ride into the apocalypse to with a big fat smile on your face. I highly recommend you guys check out more by these guys. And if you don’t want to…then fuck you

Please don’t whisper sweet nothings in my ear when the sound of shredding vocal chords is what I want to hear

The Juan MacLean is back, and this time with a complete album in their pocket. Entitled The Future Will Come and due out on DFA records on April 14th. Packed full of fantastic tunes, the stand out of which is One Day . Featuring vocals by Nancy Whang and John MacLean, check it out bellow.

Another fantastic find this week has been La Roux’s second single For The Kill. Comprised of Elly Jackson and co-writer and co-producer Ben Langmaid the duo made their debut with Quicksand on last years Kitsuné Maison 6. For The Kill is a dancy return to electronic pop laced with infatuating vocals. Currently touring the UK with Lily Allen, I eagerly await more from La Roux.

I though now would be a good chance to give my predictions as to who to look out for in 2009. The acts / producers / remixers / bands – whatever, who opened our eyes towards the end of last year and are continuing to do great things.
Coeur de Pirate released her first record, Le disque de Coeur de Pirate in September 2008. I think this will be another Black Kids story… As soon as a song is touched and remixed it will explode. Just like what The Twelves did, I believe Le Manto Andy Carmichael will do the same to Coeur de Pirate‘s track Comme des Enfants.
Coeur de Pirate – Comme des Enfants (Le Matos Andy Carmichael Remix) (320)
I would have to say I am a massive fan of these next two producers. They are Aeroplane and ever since we posted their Kathy Diamond remix of Whispers I just cant get enough. Although they released their first 12″ in 2007, I would have to say it is just recently in which they cracked into the international scene. This would have to be because of their fresh sound and remixing such acts as MGMT, Bloc Party and Cobra Dukes.
Cobra Dukes – Airtight (Aeroplane Remix) (128)

They have a new record due out soon soon… They are already massive and have been out for years, but I believe this record is going to be awesome. They are Royksopp. I haven’t posted a new track, but instead a new remix of a old one. It is Cass and Mangan Living Underdog’s Remix of Beautiful Day Without You and I cant stop listening to it.
Royksopp – Beautiful Day Without You (Cass And Mangan Living Underdog Remix) (192)
This guy has been tearing it up since Eurovision and before..He is Sébastien Tellier, and here is a remix of L’amour et la Violence I am really digging at the moment and looking forward to what is to come in 2009.
