Fresh from Friday night’s Beck’s Berlin Sessions night in Sydney, I arrived home with one track on my mind; Days Like These by Downtown Party Network. I scoured the net looking for it and found a copy on trusty Beatport. Days Like These is a “Spaced Out” disco tune that takes the listener on a cosmic adventure.
Hailing from Lithuania, Downtown Party Network is made up of DJ Saulty and an experienced music producer that goes by the name of Bradka. They have been attributed with combining the best from legendary disco times, groovy electric additions, proper beat and the indescribable Lithuanian point of view. We hope you enjoy a couple of their tunes. Buy here!
Yes yes, we have been a little slack of late with the posting. We apologise but be advised we will be back very soon with an awesome new redesign and a whole lot of awesome tracks.
In the mean time I’ve decided to do a backlog of sorts and post a few tracks that I’d been meaning to over the past month.
A few of us at CST were fortunate enough to catch M83 at their Sydney show earlier this month and they put on a mighty impressive show. Despite a short set and a few technical glitches they were just as good as I had hoped. Being a huge fan of their recent delve into 80′s tinged new-wave I was surprised to see that their earlier, instrumental work actually came off the better in a live setting. I could post any number of tracks from their back catalogue but this remix from Jackson and His Computer Band is groin-grabbingly good..
While I really liked Wolf Parade‘s second effort At Mount Zoomer I noticed not everyone did. Luckily, for those who put themselves in the latter category, Dan Boeckner has quickly followed up in the form of Handsome Furs and man is it good. I never quite got into their first record but their latest effort Face Control is consistent from start to finish.
Also a reminder to any of our Sydney readers that DFA’s Jacques Renault will be visiting our shores very soon. Future Classic has been nice enough to bring out some great producers and DJ’s over the last year so big up’s to them. Head down to the Civic Hotel on the 16th of May to check him out.
