Tensnake‘s european 80′s house/disco sound is becoming increasingly well known and loved. He has recently released a remix of Mano Le Tough’s ‘Eurodancer’ which i would say is one of my favourite tracks of 2010 thus far.
Let’s mix it up a little. These tracks I have to share with you tonight are a little different to that of what I have posted in the past. But lets face it, everyone has a soft side for indie. Here are two friends from Barcelona who do what they love. They are Chinese Christmas Cards. Welcome To Life would have to be my favourite of their tunes and is what I have to share. Make sure you check out more stuff from these guys here.
Sticking in Barcelona, these next two have been out for a little while now, but listening to Chinese Christmas Cards has lead me back to Mighty Max. Here is Beach Hut and IGLOU.
Styrofoam Ones are amongst a number of awesome Canadian acts coming out of the woodworks and tearing up blog world at the moment. This would have to be one of their catchiest songs. O.T.T.A.P has a catchy chorus and funky bass line. Check it out. Let me know what you think. You can check out more of what Styrofoam Ones have to offer here including a remix of O.T.T.A.P.
I love this track. It has been on repeat all afternoon and I just had to share it. Usually we see Breakbot remixes popping up all over the place, but here I have a Color Blaster Remix of Breakbot‘s track Baby I’m Yours. Here is a copy of the remix for you. But be sure to check out the original here.
The second instalment of a Swedish Mafia series is Erik Hassle’sHurtful. Swedish Mafia consists of Copycat, Divide & Kreate, and Nochman.
Erik Hassle came out of nowhere back in 2008, coming second in the Metro Music Challenge. It was this positioning which landed him a deal with Roxy Recordings which then lead to a deal with Island Records and Universal Republic. Hurtful has now been rereleased internationally slightly made over, but Swedish Mafia wanted to add their touch… Here it is.
Discotexas have just released their first of hopefully many EPs titled Forbidden Cuts Vol. 1. It includes disco/house tracks by Moullinex, Rockets and Xinobi. Head here to buy digital or pre-order the vinyl release directly through Discotexas.
In other news, after the success of Russ Chimes‘ remix of Ellie Goulding’s ‘Starry Eyed’, Polydor Records have released a re-edited video of the original. enjoi
There is not much I can say about this guy that you probably haven’t already heard. He’s new and exciting and I can’t wait for his first EP from Tuff Em Up Records.
Although Priors have now been on the blog scene for some time now, we have yet to dedicate a post to the Parisian duo. Up until now i didn’t think much of their single What You Need, but after hearing the new release of remixes, it has reinvented the song completely for me. Enjoy Grum, Hey Champ and DCUP take the original that one step further.
Jamie Lidell as of late has been recording his upcoming album Compass, and has been touring in anticipation of its release. Last night, Valentines Day Eve, was his visit to Melbourne and the Corner Hotel. I have seen Jamie Lidell once before bring in the New Year for 2009. Previously touring with a 5 piece band, he crooned his way through JIM and Multiply, with a short intermission of vocal-layering he is well known for. I was blown away by just how good this guys voice is, but the best was still to come. Seeing him come out alone I wasn’t sure what to expect, but he jumped straight into Little Bit Of Feel Good which then began to bleed into the the rest of the night. He dropped in his singles between improvised layers upon layers of vocals. I couldn’t stop dancing, and I cannot wait for what is expected May 17.
Last week this song landed in our inbox. This week we have been sent the hot new video clip. It isI Want More by Funeral Party. To go with it here are the tracks.
