I guess everything you needed to know is in the poster above. The line-up, the date tickets go on sale, where it’s at… what else do you need to know.. It’s true a picture really speaks 1000 words. Except for the price. Tickets are $142.00 for the standard, or $202.00 for the ‘more expensive’. There’s no better way to kick off your new year.

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010super disco.
Tuesday, June 29th, 2010I’m suuuper excited about this. in disco we trust.
‘It comes from a very familiar place from some very familiar people. It wont hurt a bit, in fact you’re going to really love it. It won’t rip you off, or disappoint you with empty promises. It’s not about spamming you on the web, but you’ll be talking about it all week. It’s not about phoney guest lists or diluted drink cards. It’s not about the latest fad, but it will excite you. It’s all about house music and the pleasure of the dance floor. This is Super Disco.’

DIG @ Underground Cinema.
Friday, June 11th, 2010Last week i wrote about a little Melbourne group that puts together a fusion of cinema meets theater. This weekend gone (June 5) I was fortunate enough to be invited by Underground Cinema to attend their ‘Backstage Cinema Experience‘. To begin, I have to say, it was nothing short amazing and honestly exceeded far more than i could expect. As i mentioned in my first UGC write up, they will showcase their movie of choice in a hand picked location with performers, photographers, artists bringing the night to feel what your due to see in the nights movie.
As i mentioned in the blog title, the movie they showed this time was hinted as a rock documentary which ended up being ‘DIG’, the story of The Brian Jonestown Massacre and The Dandy Warhols. Regardless of what i felt about the film (which i really enjoyed) I instantly fell in love with the location, the commitment by the performers and the general care in preserving what used to be quite a special occasion, going to the movies.
IMHO – going to the movies suck. There are a few cinemas left that i like to visit, not only due to the films which they show (yes, i would like to buy a ticket to something other than Sex & The City 2) but also because the its not cheap and run by 15 year olds, like EVERY hoyts & village complex is nationwide. I love films, so, for me, it’s amazing to see a group take something i take extremely dearly and make it special once more, make it a night out.
watch Underground Cinema’s website for details of their next event!
merci!
