Rubber.

This week MIFF (Melbourne International Film Festival) has hit the town with a barrage of good films littering our independent cinemas. First in my ‘to-see’ list was Rubber, a film directed by, edited by, scored by Quentin Dupieux aka Mr Oizo.

Rubber, in a single sentence, is the story of a killer tyre that ‘rolls’ (excuse the pun) in to a small mid-west town of America . The structure and cinematography, as we have witnessed and come to expect from the music of Mr Oizo, is extremely well planned chaos. Beautiful low vantage point shots of the tyre really made it feel alive, and helped you relate to the bizarre workings of the Dupieux mind. (also reminded me the Flat Eric we’ve seen over the years)

Along with creating a beautiful and bizarre film, Mr Oizo partnered up with Gaspard Augé (Justice) to produce the OST.

merci!
